Controversy regarding the phenomena of the weather situation world wide.

A couple of years ago, my dad was talking about the occurences of "natural" disasters and how these could be "man made" and not necessarily mother nature.

Any one familiar with this?

I read an article long time ago about Pentagon research to develop "triggers" for seemingly natural disasters, such as earthquakes, tornadoes. The article quoted researchers that although they were able to show it could be done, it was deemed an ineffective weapon due to lack of precision, and uncontrollable effects.

The research also looked into if and how hurricanes could be managed - i.e. steer it away from populated areas, or decrease its intensity. I think they still send in planes to measure intensity and other parameters.

Unfortunately, man knows no bounds when it comes to destruction. If it can be done, somebody will do it.
